For the OSM limits it should be

Not for the common users, imho.

"etc. that apply for the OSM use case" is too vague to be understandable.

To be honest, I'm not sure that common users should be guided to root  
their systems and copy data to  
/usr/local/share/marble/data/maps/earth/openstreetmap
