H-m-m, perfectly works here with the real printer (Lexmark P706) and  
virtual PDF printer.

Okular 0.15.80 (self-compiled), Poppler 0.20 (self-compiled from git), KDE  
4.8.5, Mageia 2.

What versions and distribution do you use?

Do you use HP printer? If so, do you use the latest hplip drivers? Can you  
try virtual PDF printer, then print obtained PDF on the real printer?
