Hi Dirk,

> I'd like to help in the documenation project.

Great! Welcome aboard! We're always pleased to welcome new contributors, so we
look forward to working with you.

(OK. Let me just say that it's not completely necessary to have the latest
development version in order to write docs, although it's useful. So, if you
have trouble setting up the SVN version of KDE, or if you find that it takes
too much time to stay up-to-date, don't despair - there are plenty of tasks
that don't need a recent development version, which are equally valuable.)

We have lots of different tasks available within the docs team, so I'm sure we
can find something you're interested in. Is there a particular KDE
application that you use a lot or are particularly familiar with? If so, you
might find it easiest to start with that application.

If you can't think of a particular application, you can take a look in the KDE
bugs database at http://bugs.kde.org . We've filed many to-do items there, in
the 'docs' product (to see them all, click the "query" link, select "docs"
under "product", then click the "start query" button at the bottom of the
page). If any of those to-dos look interesting, drop us a line to say you're
working on it, and we'll help you to get started.

If you can't find anything there that interests you, don't worry! Just get
back to us, and we can find something that you're interested in and will
enjoy working on.

And, last but certainly not least: you don't need to learn docbook! All KDE
documentation becomes docbook in the end, but we're happy to receive
submissions in plain text - we'll add the necessary markup.

Regards,
Philip
