For brand new documentation, probably a week or so before the final release.  
There's no reason not to start committing immediately however, as each 
chapter is completed (to allow time for markup cleanup, and proof reading.)

And while I have you, I actually started a user manual for kpovmodeler - if 
you like, I'll send a copy, it's got a lot of the nasty work (the menu 
references) already done.
