Breeze style problem since Qt 6.8.2

After all, it's nice to see I'm at least not the only one affected by this. It 
would be really, really nice if we could get this fixed -- one or another way.

This is really annoying -- and it doesn't seem like the Qt guys would be 
conscious of having done anything wrong and/or to be working too hard on 
tracking this down :-(
