I'm missing the good argument for this other than larger is better.


But just some data points

Debian oldstable has  3.18.4-2
Debian stable has  3.25.1-1

I do not consider it reasonable to support debian oldstable for new
developments.

I do know that Debian stable is not uncommon as a base.
