It would bury them from the Bugzilla searches and other places that allow
viewing bugs vs. entering them.
But you are correct that it doesn't really help much - and would actually
harm the Dr Konqi experience for people still using the old versions of
those applications as it won't tell them that it is no longer open for bug
reporting.
