Future of k3b - deprecation of wodim/genisoimage

Hey,
Debian will stop shipping cdrkit (wodim/genisoimage) with the next but one
release named bookworm [1] ( so we are talking about something like 2-3
years). Keep in mind, that Debian is the upstream author of cdrkit. They ask
every user to replace cdrkit with something else like xorriso.
As upstream will gone away - it will effect every distribution sooner or later.
k3b is currently using wodim, but k3b is currently in low level bugfixing mode
and replacing wodim/genisoimage is out of scrope for the current maintainer
[1].
So any help is welcomed!
