Cygwin, KDE 3.4 and Konsole

I just installed the latest Cygwin distribution and KDE 3.4. When I run
Konsole, I get the following error:

"Konsole is unable to open a PTY (pseudo teletype). It is likely that
this is due to an incorrect configuration
of PTY devices. Konsole needs to have read/write access to the PTY
devices"

In the bash shell that launched KDE, I get the following message:

"/opt/kde3.4/bin/kgrantpty not installed setuid root
kdecore (KProcess): WARNING: chownpty failed for device :/dev/tty1
This means the communication can be eavesdropped.
/opt/kde3.4/bin/kgrantpty not installed setuid root
konsole: WARNING: konsole not able to open a psuedo teletype!
Uh oh.. can't get terminal attributes.."

Would appreciate any assistance. I don't remember doing anything special
to get konsole working with
kde 3.0.

Thanks,
Stan
