yes, the ld patch mentioned above fixes gcc 3.2, but currently not gcc 3.3.
uic segfaults fails because ld does support specific optimisations of gcc3.
This support will be probably added soon (I have recalled this thread on the
binutils mailing list.

So you have to use gcc3.2 yet or fix it by yourself or wait a while.
