Possible cause for Cygwin being slow in XP

This sounds like something that may gum up the works for cygwin users.  I=
 know that the way cygwin/Unix behaves (simple commands used in serial to=
 perform complex functions) tends to throw windows for a loop, especially=
 virus scanners.  I can see how this XP issue could cause problems.

I don't run XP, so I haven't tried this.  Use at your own risk.
