problem starting kde

Hi All,
After perfroming the postinstallation steps,
starting the KDE by startx & gives the following error.

DCOPServer up and running.

Also, I get the error 
"The Procedure entry point XShmAttach could not be located in the dynamic link library libXext.dll"
Though, I have installed XFree86 4.2 ( i have downloaded the latest files from cygwin 2 days back)

Let me know the workaround to solve the problem.
