KDE2 (.xinitrc & .xserverrc problems)

Dear All,
I'm new to Unix-like environment. I downloaded all required Cygwin-Kde2
packages and while running
startx &
I get the error:
[: Tenconi/.xinitrc: unknown operand
[: Tenconi/.xserverrc: unknown operand
My home directory is "Paolo Tenconi" and here are .xinitrxc and
.xserverrc, perhaps spaces aren't allowed in directory names?
If so, what can I do?

fail startx
