api function for requesting the amount of free memory needed

Hi all,

currently I'm writing a little helper tool (fillmem), which clears the windows
file cache to emulate a reboot. This helps in inspecting the loading time
problems.

One open issue with this tool is to get the available free virtual memory. It
would be nice if someone could give me a hint, which function could be used.
