Hello, I've got the same problem and solved it by editing the registry. "mount" shows you the mount-modes: textmode or binmode. After setting all mode to binmode KDE runs. Changing the mode: Search in the registry of Windows (regedit.exe) for "cygdrive flag" and change the all vakues to a (decimal:10). Peter
