Problem starting KDE 3.1 on cygwin

	Cygwin 3.1 just installed on Win XP.
	uname: CYGWIN_NT-5.1      1.3.18(0.69/3/2)
	
	KDE hangs at "starting IPC communications" with multiples of
this error:
	"DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Authentication
Rejected,
	reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are
supported
	and host-based authentication failed"
	
	Looks like some other users get the same error, but I haven't
found any
	advice on how to resolve.
