Qt 3.1 working files

I want to help you guys work on the Qt 3.1 problems, but I don't really know
what setup I should be working from. I'd like to keep it as close to Qt 3.1
snapshots as possible. I downloaded a snapshot from a few days ago from
trolltech.org, but qmake segfaults whenever I try to run it. What patches
are necessary to get this to work? What tags/branches in CVS are relevant
here? What patches have already been applied?
