if we chase a broken approach, we also lose. we get the same amount of points 
for trying and failing as we do for not trying and failing. instead of just 
"try something", let's shoot for "implement a defined strategy based on sound 
analysis".

Cornelius' idea doesn't need cheerleading, it needs effort put into defining 
what it means. it needs research resulting in, at the very least, a rough plan 
of how we could proceed and what our expectations and goals are. in other 
words, transform the hypothesis into a theory.

only then can we form useful and informed conclusions as to whether we think 
we can and should go further with it.
