Button not working - any ideas?

It happens on all styles, the the proportion of the button (always on the 
right of the button) that has a working hover effect varies depending on the 
style used.  With Oxygen, it's the right quarter, with Plastique the right 
10th or so, with GTK+ somewhere between.
