I do own a SB Live and I don't have those controls. And I miss them. 
They show up in alsamixer though and were visible in KMix some time 
before. The only selectable channels for me is Master, Front, PCM, CD, 
Mic, Capture, Line, Mix Mono, although SBLive provides much more.

Hm, I had some .xml files in the share/apps/kmix/profiles that seem to 
control this. Don't know where they came from. ..
