I'm not sure whether there are other applications that might want this 
feature, but from a Dolphin point of view I don't plan to enable the "file 
count for groups" feature. IMO it only adds visual + API clutter and does not 
help for for the default use case where grouping is done: having small groups 
like e. g. in the system settings.

If the user really needs the number of files for a group: this is already 
possible by clicking on the group header (-> the status bar shows the number 
of selected items). Another idea would be that the number of items are shown 
in the statusbar, if the group header gets hovered.
