General information is to be easy to access summary information, for example devices that are plugged into the PC, IP of Nics. Advanced looks at the different controllers ( USB, PCI ) and more complex aspects of the PC. 

Protocols can be removed, No point to have it in KInfoCenter when you can simply go into help and click Kioslaves.
