Can we* prettyplease do something about the KUrlNavigator?

How would that work? It seems like it would be hard to get it working
well, but could be a solution.
The use case I am thinking of right now is, edit the path, do some other
stuff (so widget has lost focus since some time), edit path again.
The problem is there is no way to know if the next change I will want to
type, or use breadcrumb mode. Hence the correct solution, of course, is
for KDE to read my mind ;-).
