That's not a valid URL. The % character (%25) cannot appear in the 
hostname part of a URL.

If you drop the two slashes, it should parse as a URI and work just fine.

Correct. QUrl only accepts valid URLs.

The most strict field is the hostname. Don't put anything there that isn't 
a hostname,

As of Qt 4.6, for security reasons, QUrl enforces STD3.
