Use phonon from Qt or kdesupport?

Huh? If I build them separately, that by definition makes them separate 
packages. (Okay, so instead of "a separate backend package" you're 
saying there should be "one package per backend that is not part of Qt". 
Still sounds like tomaeto/tomahto to me...)

Maybe I am confused, do the extra backends live somewhere that isn't 
kdesupport/phonon?
