Solid appShouldConserveResourcesChanged

I am using the appShouldConserveResourcesChanged signal provided by 
Solid to suspend Strigi once the computer is running on batteries.
Strangly on my desktop system (no battery mode) I get the signal all the 
time. For example whenever Krunner crashes, strigi is suspended. But 
also very often on system startup.
Is this a known problem? A limitation?
