While it certainly makes things simpler for desktop apps developers
(I know about the HAVE_NEPOMUK mess in dolphin),
keeping it optional is a good way to help with the
"Minimal kdelibs on embedded platforms" issue.
Ifdefs suck, but forking sucks even more.
