My apologies, it was *I* who asked both in the ticket, and again recently to
Kevin again privately, to take the discussion to this list, since progress
in the aforementioned bz has been... less than quick, and besides, bz isn't
really a good forum for discussions or feedback anyway.

So, let's bootstrap things to be clear here:  if you don't object to the
patch's approach, we're stuck on what, coding style?
