Actually, it does. You see eventually you will find the modified line - and 
then you know 1) that developer messed up the code 2) he used a wrong 
whietspace/indentation scheme and you are now allowed to throw rotten 
tomatoes into his house...

... it seems it can work on a small project, but in KDE you will probably 
waste too much time looking for the modified line. It seems that the last 
time it was decided that in time files will be reformatted by developers 
fixing bugs or adding functionality, slowly and steady, or by issues 
formatting commits.
