Was that on Windows? If so, your testcase did not produce the symptom 
we're seeing in KDE, so it has to be something else? Are KDE applications 
really terminating when they exit?

If that was on Unix, then run dbus-daemon in verbose mode and move this 
discussion to the D-Bus mailing list.
