because not releasing doesn't make an open source software better. it just
makes it take longer. releasing when there are things to work / play with is
a very good strategy. trying to keep it to ourselves out of fear that people
won't "get" the release is ignoring the fact that many *will* and that the
release is the point when developers and early adopters will start kicking
the wheels, porting apps and seeing what they can do with it.
delaying things another 4-6 months would be devestating to the momentum of
things imho.
