Works for me, anyway.

Of course, we noted on IRC that there appear to be two use cases:

fakeSync+reparseConfig = rollback
fakeSync+dtor = disableSync+dtor (where disableSync could simply be 
'don't sync in the dtor')

So depending on how much change we want to make...
