as already discussed on the usability list, there are much better ways to lay 
this widget out. the alignments in this example are not optimal.

to those on k-c-d just joining this conversation: there has already been a 
good, productive and lengthy discussion on kde-usability that has centered 
around an evolving set of mockups (done in svg so they were easily mucked 
about with, even by artists =) that i would recommend reading first before 
getting too involved with this discussion on k-c-d at the risk of simply 
rehashing the entire conversation all over again.
