I don't know what the oxygen developers say about the current status of the
style, and I don't know how much of the current status is "by design" or
simply not finished yet, but for me (running KDE4 inside Xephyr without
compositing) currently the default style makes me feel like back in the 70's
having only a black/white monitor. Everything is grey in grey. I can not see
where a widget ends and another one starts (e.g. a splitter, a scrollbar).
Try to run korganizer (attached screeny).
Do you quickly see that there are 2 splitters available ? (ok, other styles
show a splitter also not much better, but they at least show a different
color when hovering over it and adpat the pattern lenght according to the
splitter length, which oxygen does not)

Maybe the people from oxygen can give a current status and what they think can
be done up to the release ?
If the current status would be what is finally delivered in 4.0, I doubt that
the KDE4 desktop will make anyone say "Wow!"
