yes. but this doesn't really help in this case. the problem in question
is not with windows (unless you define windows itself the problem :=),
but with one particular, sort of obsolete compiler (right?). given that
it's still not clear what *exactly* causes it to barf, it might take
days of doing speculative commits until the problem gets isolated.
given that we are talking about a pretty central api with BC and SC
requirements, you might agree that this is not the way to go. :)
