I have my own widget and I have implemented the inputMethod stuff, but I 
had not been able to see skim react so I could start writing in 
Chinese/Japanese.
Using the export XMODIFIERS='@im=SCIM'
gets me to try it, I'll add the code to show the popup as well.

KOffice will have kick ass text input again in KOffice2 !
