That's because sebas has portrayed the opinion of the first group (to which he 
didn't belong) in a way that by exaggaration makes their position look 
completely ridiculous. Having been part of the discussion I was part of the 
first group mentioned. And I'd say that your position does match  almost 
exactly the concerns and opinion of the first group.

Well that depends on the area we are talking about. In terms of frameworks I 
have no doubts, that KDE 4.0 will be a huge step. However we also need to 
take a good look at the user experience (of which the frameworks and 
technical bug fixing will only contribute a smaller part than most people 
here on this list might think). Of course it's totally unrealistic to assume 
that a new major version will be as stable as a previous major release at the 
end of its life cycle.
