You are the networking guru so I assume that this is really not possible with 
the current QNetwork, however I am quite puzzled that TT would even consider 
releasing something that will break application's functionality so easily.

/etc/resolv.confg changes very often these days, almost every time a computer 
switched between networks, i.e. from LAN to WLAN, between WLANs, etc.
