Sometimes there's a kind of logical order in a group that's not alphabetical. 
Also the order in a group (and of the groups) is different in different 
languages. Should you ever switch the language you'll be lost for some time. 
And if you look at screenshots or read descriptions that use the order of 
another language it can get confusing too.

E.g. Kontact uses a fixed ordering of the parts it shows in the left pane, and 
I think there it makes perfect sense. The entries in the configuration dialog 
are ordered just the same.

For systemsettings I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think alphabetical sorting 
helps finding things at all. Most of the time when you're searching for 
something you don't know the exact name anyway, so you have to look at all 
the entries from top to bottom (so it makes sense to order the items in that 
way: most used on top, less frequent used on the bottom).
