KGlobalSettings misses desktopFont?

Apparently, KGlobalSettings is missing an accessor for the desktopFont. Since 
it's public API, and I do not feel confident at all, I'm hesitant to 'just 
add it'.

Is it possible to add a static function to KGlobalSettings which returns the 
desktopFont in the same way as the other fonts? If so, what do I need to keep 
in mind with BIC and all that?

Or is this omission done on purpose?
