FYI: I have kcheckrunning restored, building and operational in my local working kdebase/workspace.
I'll wait for objections for a day or so before committing.    Obviously, this is an X only type of thing.
Assuming that only Linux/Unix use kdebase/workspace??  Or does Mac also need it?
