Hmm, not really.
I see no problem in having local copies in several places and only when 
those parts depend on KDE41, or whatever version the replacing API will 
appear in, will that be ported back.

Just place the classes in koffice/libs/koguiutils/ for example (and don't 
install the headers ;)

A small price to pay for ending up with a great API :)
