BTW, in the context of KWin* discussion:

The idea[*] is to reuse VirtuaWin (http://virtuawin.sourceforge.net/), a GPL'd 
project adding virtual desktop experience to the Windows OS. Having this, 
KWin* classes of the KDE API can work as expected, at least partially. This 
feature is aimed at power users that require virtual desktops, however.
