I didn't follow closely.
Where does knepclient come from ?
From the same "module" or from the outside ?
If it comes from the outside writing a FindKNepClient.cmake is probably 
already on your TODO ?
You can also use the generate_findpackage_file from kdesdk/cmake/scripts/
