Just wondering; is the new feature one that can be turned off by some 
variable?  I'm not sure I see the advantage of percentage printing for 
the whole build instead of the current build.
Creating silly things like:
$cd krita
$make clean
$make install
 97% complete
Building CXX object krita/krita[snip]
