I've run it on auto-generated code so I don't have to insert \t everywhere and 
it works ok for me.
If we want the code quality to be checked in terms of coding style also (for 
example as an additional EBN check), I see no way around a specification of 
what the coding style actually is.
If the current tools cannot cope with it, it would be bad, but still worth a 
try finding out what their weaknesses actually are, and giving feedback to 
their maintainers.
