Centralize tree-filter class?

fyi, we'll shortly be able to, via CSS, adjust the internal margins on 
qlineedit. the CSS support is there, but qlineedit is a bit broken. there is 
a troll working on it however (hi Girish! =) who'll be letting me know what 
it's ready.

at that point we can ditch the #&!@ infernal |x> button which really needs to 
die die die and replace it with a cute little x icon -inside- the lineedit. 
oooooh yeah.

(i did one up with qt 4.1 but it relied on private API. with CSS it should be 
completely doable with just CSS and a couple lines of painting code. w00t!)
