Even if so, libxklavier can't make use of this functionality because it's only 
written in C. The question is therefore not whether libxklavier should depend 
on libstdc++, because it can't. The question is which C library is the best 
fit from a features vs. linking size point of view.

As far as I followed the discussion, the libxklavier maintainer is willing to 
rethink his decisions, so if you know a C library that fits better than glib, 
we're eager to know from you.
