 Are you sure you have actually done this? E.g. kdelibs/SConscript says 
"obj.vnum = '6.0.2'" and I'd guess that's the same like 
"libkdecore_la_LDFLAGS = ... -version-info 6:0:2 ...". Or is it just me not 
having a clue about the new buildsystem?
