either by specifying the backend in the constructor or, if the resource type 
is config, by automatic switching based on a set of env vars. (at least,

in the context of elektra, the ctor specification may be particularly useful 
for special purpose applications. you gave the example of X.org configs; so 
an X.org configuration app may ask for a KConfig with the Elektra backend 
specifically to be able to read X.org config files.
